Crash Landing

CCrrassssssssshhhhh and here I am at IITB. I set my foot into IITB campus as a student on 19th July 2006, 9 p.m. First night was spent on the comfortable mattress in the TV Room of hostel 13. Next day we were treated to some long lecture baazi by the oldies and revered at the IITB Campus. The fun started when we had an address by the faculty of our department. It was a pleasant experience to get to know about our department, for the first time, by the people who daily breathe life into it.
Our department has 15 permanent faculties, all of whom are Phds from various esteemed national/international institutes. Apart from these there are 2 facutlies who teach at KReSIT.Apart from these there are 11 visiting professors for the first sem of second year. Apart from the huge central IITB library, the school has its own library. The school is wi-fi enabled which makes it really easy for the visitors and students with laptops to make use of the excellent IT backbone of IITB. Apart from the school there are quite a few other hot spots on the campus. Inspite of the fact that almost all the students own a computer, the school has excellent computing resources. The class roooms and seminar rooms are all air conditioned equipped with multimedia and traditional OH projectors. Overall the facilities are excellent for all academic purposes. The Phd. guys have an extra advantage of having a separate research area which resembles more of an IT workplace than mundane IIT research areas. The institute boasts of quite a few high profile PhD. candidates like Mr. Arvind Agrawal , who is an IIMA alumnus and is currently President and Chief Executive Corporate Development and HR at RPG enterprises and Dr. Ganesh Natrajan , CEO Zensar , who interestingly is an alumni of NITIE which is just across the Powai lake from IITB, had chosen IITB SOM as the place for his PhD.

All the MBA guys are provided accomodation at hostel 12 and 13 which are the best hostels in the campus more on hostel later.

Let me take a breather now. Hope to update the blog soon.
